Buildwell AI value portfolio

CFO working file for the two-week budget review. Finance counting rules apply first; sliders, scenarios, and added rows recompute counted benefit, net value, payback, and the scale / fix / stop call immediately.

Scenario and global levers

Realization multiplies counted benefit after the Finance haircut. Run-cost index changes net value. Build-cost index changes payback and net÷build, not net annual value. Source: ai-initiatives.csv (22 Buildwell initiatives). Dollars are $K.

How ROI is calculated

Counted benefit = Claimed annual benefit × type/basis factor × initiative realization × global realization.

Base (Finance) factor: hard cost saving or revenue lift at 100% if measured in a finance system, otherwise 50%; productivity hours at 25%; risk reduction at 0% and reported separately.

Net annual value = counted benefit − annual run cost × run-cost index. Payback (months) = (build cost × build-cost index) ÷ net annual value × 12. If net ≤ 0, payback is n/a.

Annual return on build = net annual value ÷ one-time build. That is a finance working ratio, not an IRR; year-1 cash is counted − run − build if the build is expensed immediately.
